As the largest organ in the body, the skin can have a profound impact. The chemicals released by diseased and dysfunctional skin soon enter the bloodstream, where they wash around, damaging other tissues. Amid the ensuing systemic inflammation, chemicals from the skin can reach and harm organs that seem entirely unrelated, including your heart and brain.

Well thats it, I’m definitely staying out of the sun now!

Huh. All else equal, I wonder what the effects of having, say, a patch or sticker semi-permanently affixed to one location for all but five minutes out of the week would be, for oh, five to twenty years. Besides tape rash I’m assuming the subject is sophisticated enough to use adhesive barrier.

Trouble is that’d just treat one particular path or location, whereas it’s all exposed skin that would require treatment. I think, sunblock and moisturiser are going to be a lot easier solutions, that and just stating out of the sun as far as practical

Maybe I’m being too obtuse. Think about how prostheses might affect the sites they attach to the skin.
