Please note, this is not the same man who was paralyzed by a different police department, in a news story posted yesterday.
    A “rough ride” is when cops put someone in the back of a police vehicle, handcuffed but without safety belts, and then drive high-speed loops, slam on the brakes, etc, to throw and crumple the victim’s body against the vehicle walls, injuring and terrorizing.
    This time, the “rough ride” paralyzed Randy Cox. The cops weren’t fired until a year later, and were charged with mere misdemeanors.
