A “rough ride” is when cops put someone in the back of a police vehicle, handcuffed but without safety belts, and then drive high-speed loops intended to injure and terrorize the passenger.
    This time, they paralyzed him.

“Court records show no criminal charges have been filed against Monday over the Shinneman case - but he was fired earlier this month following another violent incident.”

If anyone other than the police did that, theyd be in prison not just fired. It is staggering how much cops get away with even in the rare instances when what they did leads to some semblance of consequences. i.e slap on the wrist

They’re just one big gang. Once you’re sworn in, youre “family” and will be protected by the very powerful police unions. We desperately need reform. Or at the minimum, they should require a bachelor’s to reduce the amount of people who’re in it for the power trip.

It seems like a lot of other countries have less of an issue with this than the US does… How do you reprogram an entire culture to be less tolerant of this shit?

Long ago, my brother in law was a sheriff in Yolo County, Calif.

They would routinely put handcuffed guys in the back, get up to speed, and then slam on the brakes so the guy would hamburger his face on the metal screen.

    Protect and serve …

I remember my rough ride. I was lucky to be near the station.
