Rep. George Santos and his former campaign aide, both indicted by federal prosecutors, appear to be in plea talks with the government, according to court papers filed Tuesday.

Prosecutors in the Santos case asked the judge overseeing the case to delay a court hearing set for Thursday because “the parties have continued to discuss possible paths forward in this matter.” They added: “The parties wish to have additional time to continue those discussions.”

I’m interested in whether McCarthy is going to pull out his back moving the goal posts on expulsion if there is a guilty plea. He’s been sticking with “we’ll deal with it if there’s a conviction” so far, and I’d imagine he was planning to switch that to “we’ll wait until the appeals are exhausted” after that. If Santos straight up admits the crimes by pleaing guilty, then where do you go? He already can only lose 3 votes in the house, is he going to expell Santos and go down to a 2 vote margin? With government funding about to shutdown if they can’t pass a continuing resolution by the end of the month? Good luck fucker, you deserve the shit stew your swimming in.

This is not a smart guy, he isn’t thinking ahead. All his actions point to having a singular goal: be speaker of the house for as long as possible. Nothing else. He just reacts and does whatever he thinks will prolong his tenure at that moment.

Yep. He never wanted to serve. He only wanted the title and to be in the history books. He’s gonna be in the books as a weak piece of shit, but like the other Republicans, he has no shame.
