Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, a “parental rights” group that has sought to take over school boards in multiple states, to the Florida Commission on Ethics on Wednesday.

Tina Descovich was named to the nine-member, Tallahassee-based commission, which investigates alleged breaches of public trust by elected and appointed officials, as well as state employees.

The group’s support for school choice and the “fundamental rights of parents” to direct their children’s education has also drawn allies such as the conservative Heritage Foundation.

Moms for Liberty has been labeled an “extremist” organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center for allegedly harassing community members, advancing anti-LGBTQ+ misinformation and fighting to scrub diverse and inclusive material from lesson plans.

Yeah, ok. People were saying similar things about Trump too.

    “He has no chance”

    “He’ll never win”

Trump wasn’t polling where DeSantis is polling.

If you think literally anything happening right now means anything, then you have a whole lot of learn about American politics. We aren’t even at the pre-game yet, let alone the primaries and eventually the general election. There are going to be so many twists and turns till next November, that no one is even going to remember what happens now.

What twists and turns have there been so far? Because all I’ve seen is Trump dominating the field way beyond anyone else and DeSantis falling behind the others.

The whole point of twist and turns is that we won’t know their coming! LOL

You have a lot to learn.

Again- what twists and turns have there been so far?

What part of “we won’t know what will happen” don’t you quite understand?? Do you think politics (or anything, really) is a straight pre-determined line? If that was the case, then why have primaries or even general elections? Apparently no unexpected things ever happen.

The first twist has been the emergence of Vivek. There will be many more.

That wasn’t a twist at all. He did well in the debate because he talks a good game and DeSantis, as expected, sucked because he has specifically one topic, “wokeness,” and he’s a terrible public speaker. I have no idea why you think that wasn’t absolutely predictable.
