I think it goes hand in hand. We wouldn’t be nearly so critical if we had paid what Pepe was actually worth i.e. 30-40mil. It wouldn’t be amazing but at least we would feel like we got a good return on that fee.
The way things have ended up, at least we got something - and we aren’t paying his wages anymore…

Can’t clubs throw us like £2m or £3m? They just know how desperate we are to get his salary off the books.
