Muslims have long believed that Paul purposefully corrupted the original revealed teachings of Jesus, through the introduction of such elements as paganism, the making of Christianity into a theology of the cross, and introducing original sin and the need for redemption.
^^ From the Wiki article (Muslim views section).
I don’t have time to skim or read the entire article; it’s much too long. And I didn’t know that these views on the individual even existed (atheist). What should I look for if I want to learn more without getting heavily invested? Can you please summarize where you’re coming from with this comment and give me some background? This sounds pretty interesting as a topic.
There’s no fast way to see this. If you look at the Gospels and all the non-Pauline texts (stuff written by or attributed to Paul) there’s nothing about Christ being some divine being meant to address sin. That is all coming from Paul/Saul who also happens to be the only writer in the NT who wasn’t Jewish
Paul created all the parts that aren’t more or less an attempt to reform judaism.

There’s a decent amount of cross theology and Jesus-addressing-sin material in John, though.
