    Why trans X but not Z?

      Because it’s saying they don’t want to be represented in power, they want to be represented by my equals. It’s in a vein of poetry that often follows a similar structure where disadvantaged people acknowledge that a president among us won’t solve our problems, nor will us being cops, but us being welcomed and accepted as peers throughout the community

        Not having much background in poetry, I took it in more of an anarchist way: I want trans people to be anything they want, buy I don’t want there to be cops or presidents.
