Hello c/PlayStation!

Let’s get some business out of the way first. The current c/PlayStation poll results are showing: * 68:10 of in favor of merging with c/PS5 under the c/PlayStation umbrella (87.2%)

And for c/PS5 we are seeing: * 149:10 in favor of migrating to c/PlayStation (93.7%)

I will be leaving the vote posts up at least through the weekend to hopefully gather a larger representative sample, but even with a larger margin of error due to the small sample size, the results so far seem largely in favor of the merge. I have to admit, I didn’t expect it to be so one-sided.

If you haven’t voted yet, please go do so! You can find the post here: ~~**https://lemmy.world/post/5419359**~~

Edit: Vote results are final. PS5 content is merging into c/PlayStation! Please see the pinned post for more details.

Now for what we are all playing this week:

Personally I am trying to finish Dave the Diver so I can get back to some PS5 games. I am so close to the end, so I’m going to try and drive it home tonight. Then I have Baldur’s Gate 3, but honestly, I might start God of War Ragnarok. Something about Spider-man 2 on the horizon has me wanting to finish another PS exclusive before it comes out.

Anyway, what are you all planning to get up to this weekend?

P.S. Not video game related, but I bought some Disney Lorcana cards off ebay to play with my wife. Slight markup, but eh. Planning to get those in tomorrow, so I’ll be playing that also.

I’ve been playing dysmantle, I aim to finish it this weekend (and by finish, I mean -everything-). Then I’ll be sad it’s over.

Then probably go back to kingdom hearts 1.5/2.5 or sea of stars.

If not for a bunch of kittens running around I’d play Skyrim VR… got the vr setup right before the kittens got here so have barely had a chance to try it.

you could try playing seated? I played some vr while leaning/half-sitting on swivel stool so I could play for longer but still trick my mind into thinking I was standing.

Stepping on them isn’t really the issue. I was doing something similar since I’m not used to vr and had a strong urge to move around, which proved to be very disorienting and I was losing balance. Sitting helped a ton, tho I was testing on Rick and morty which doesn’t have a lot of exploring or anything, just a lot of turning in place.

They would play with the moving cords, though, and there’s 5 of them (3 foster). They love cords. Probably would chew them. I don’t have the suspension hooked up yet cuz I’m thinking about moving the ps4 to the living room, but that’s a big ol’ to-do to fully set up, so not ready yet.

Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it! :)

oh, yeah, chewing is no bueno. Suspension is def the way to go in your case. Good luck! I hope you find the time to set it up soon. And have fun with the kitties!

What vr games have you tried out, and which console? Always up for suggestions on stuff that pays well!

I have a PSVR1 and a quest 2. Favorites are Half Life Alyx (hope it comes to PSVR2. I stream it to the quest 2 from my gaming PC) and The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners. I also really liked Statik, which is a puzzler. Eleven tabletop is a fantastic ping pong game with great physics. And shout out to Demeo if you’re looking for that tabletop strategy game. Walkabout mini golf is also a good time and very relaxing. Also loved Thumper and obviously super hot VR is the GOAT.

I played all of those before I had a kid. Now I don’t have a PSVR2 as I don’t have as much time for gaming, let alone time where I can shut out the entire world.
