I clicked on the link to communities, and it said “you must log in”. I stupidly didn’t write my (auto-generated) password down and Opera isn’t letting me view or c&p my saved passwords. So I had to go back to the home page and refresh to be logged in again.
Huh, well I’ve just tried every way I can think of to try and recreate that but no matter what I do the link is still just a list of communities lol, it’s on a different instance even so god knows how it logged you out of this one. Apologies for the drama, glad you got back in!

I had similar problems with mastodon too. That being said, I’m a technological luddite so it’s probably something very simple.
You gotta copy the link to the community then paste it into your instance’s (lemmy.world) search bar.
