Guess this engine and get… something! Maybe just some kudos and a little respect around here, but that’s something right! I don’t know, I’ve never modded anything and am new to Lemmy. What can I give here? Flair? Do we do that? Inform me of that for bonus points!

Otherwise, points for A: identifying the engine B: knowledge of the engine C: what does this engine fit? What vehicle, what trans? D: what CAN it fit if modded? E: how many horsepower? F: how many liters? G: carbureted or fuel injection? H: what’s the bore? I: Is for ANYTHING else! every itty bitty bit of knowledge will go to your score!

Winner so far! I’ll just give 60 points and debate the 30 horsepower difference later 😂 thanks and this is really great work!

When I figure out what I can give you other than the kudos you deserve, you’ll get it!

I’d mail out small engine parts, sockets or other random mechanic related stuff if people would take em!

I had a Dodge Dakota with one of these. Despite the specification mine definitely didn’t make 230 HP. Great little engine though, my main complaint was the fuel economy and the fact that the engine was rusting away just like the rest of the truck.

Recommend replacing the barrel intake plenum with a flat plane intake manifold, you’ll make way more power.

I was just yanking your chain regarding the horsepower! We had a Dodge Durango with almost that same setup and other than telling you I wish it had more power I couldn’t tell you exactly what it had at the time but that’s been over a decade ago. I will say it had adequate horsepower for what we were doing but at the time we were just looking a bunch of tools around and not really carrying much that was heavy but it would bog a lot under a load.

I do appreciate the advice regarding the plenum and I’m always wanting to learn more things like that! For now this particular engine sits but if I ever drop it in anything and get serious with it I will be sure to take your advice, thank you!
