I have been holding out on 5e. I only ever heard folks complain about it and I have been happy with my 3e core set for decades. Finally scored the entire set for 35 bucks on ebay, virtually brand new.
Looking forward to engaging in the online reindeer games.
It’s good you were able to get them at such a bargain as WotC is in the process of updating the rulebooks for 2024. As far as I know, there will be new players and DMs guides. Though, as they’ve stated that the adventures should not be impacted in use by either 5e or 5.5e (or whatever they call it), it may not have that much of an immediate impact on the player base in general or your play group specifically.
