Both are very early betas and still missing a lot of features.
Memmy is updated at least once a day, so far. You can experience it being built up in real time.
Mlem is more of an ambitious project, and it seems to be updated once a week. The updates are huge though.
Mlem’s focus seems to be on accessibility, where as Memmy is on design.
Both have an active Matrix or Discord chat where you can share feedback with the developers. They’re all great folks, all working hard, and all good listeners.
Neither of these apps will look the same next week as they do right now - due to the fact they’re being constantly worked on. So who knows which one will be best.
To note, Mlem does not support iOS 15 whereas I believe Memmy does.
Memmy is also working on an Android release, though getting the beta approved by Google is a work in progress. My understanding is that that could be available as early as today.
That said, Mlem met their beta-test limit of 10K users.
