minus-square@na_th_anlink3•1 year agoTo test if a bowl or plate is microwave safe, put a glass of water and the object under test into the microwave and run for a minute. The bowl/plate should be cold. If it’s warmed up, it is not microwave safe.

My guess would be the plate has absorbed moisture so now has an ability to absorb microwaves.
