It’s a very nice screen, super bright and lovely to look at.

I bought these screen protectors, and they are very easy to install, and look great!

But part of me misses the curved screen. Something about it felt more premium and differentiated from the iPhone.

I still love the 8 Pro though, and have zero regrets.

I have gone without screen protectors for a 4 and a 6. The glass now is different than back in the 2010’s. I know it is a big ask/risk and highly dependant on your use case and lifestyle, but you may find that the protector is not actually doing anything any more. All of us are different in how roughly we use phones. I am in the habit of always keeping items in certain pockets, like my front left is always only for my phone, and I have limited physical mobility, so I am not very hard on devices. YEMV

Yeah, glass technology is definitely getting better. But I can never unsee even mirco-scratches, and I don’t tend to use a case, so I just take comfort in a screen protector.

I didn’t hate the liquid application of screen protectors on curved screens either…it was kinda cool to set those up (even though the fumes were kinda bad).

I can attest to this, after last year. Searching hard for screen protector on the pixel 6 Pro. I kept coming across people who said they never ran one. So I finally took it off and have been going naked for the last year with zero issues. I am basically asking for this phone to break so I can get a new one but so far no issues with the display.
