Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) did not mince words about the state of the House Republican conference on Friday, saying it's in a tough spot at the moment.

Dixiecrats were purely reactionary to desegregation, it was mostly progressive liberals in the south that were racist. Nixon was basically forced to pass the NEPA due to growing unrest around environmental harm. Hippies weren’t a target of the war on drugs just because they believed in free love.
