Assuming the summary provided by Kagi, per @wreckedcarzz is accurate, I think he’s got some points. Sony could have done infinitely better with backwards compatibility at both ends of the PlayStation 3’s life cycle, and PlayStation VR is an absolute clusterfuck (credit to [email protected] for this call out). I also think industry consolidation is a concern, and I’d like to see more indie titles on console that otherwise would be swallowed up by Microsoft for Game Pass, or otherwise stick exclusively to PC either as a response to development costs, or because of additional efforts required to port titles over.

Likewise as wreckedcarzz points out, some genres appear to be going off into the sunset. Speaking personally, I can’t remember the last time PCs saw a great racing title. Forza’s petering out, and Assetto Corsa is clearly getting very long in the tooth. And yet, there don’t appear to be many developers and/or publishers stepping into that space to pick up the baton.

Race sims were always niche. There are hundreds of indie titles. I have no idea what world you are living in.

The rest is just Sony being Sony like they have for 20 years. It’s like everyone forgets they are a shitty company who hates their customers just as bad a Nintendo because they make good games.

I mostly stopped gaming on consoles when I got stupid money to throw down on my PC like…4 years ago. But even then, I wasn’t aware of very many IPs created by smaller devs that made their way onto the PlayStation Store.
