Hi, I have been having a look at utilising RF and trying to understand how every device around me emits RF.

I recently came across RTL-SDR and HackRF, alongside software like SDR++, TempestSDR, gqrx etc. I know that I can spy on my monitor and record keyboard keys being pressed using RF, but what are some other ways I should be looking at to exploit my digital vulnerabilities, and trying to solve such problems?

Edit: I’m well aware that nothing I’m doing is that interesting to security agencies across the globe. With that said, I’m interested in maintaining my privacy, and this happens to be an avenue I find interesting. Any suggestions on how I can look to do so would be greatly appreciated!

    I’d start off by studying to apply for a ham radio license, really. You’ll learn a lot about radiation in that training material, and when you’re done, you’ll be licensed to transmit on the ham frequencies.

    Then dealing with software defined radios will just be an extra variation on a known theme.

      Thanks, but do I really need to go through all of that material to understand the basic concepts of RF? I’m not very interested in ham radios, but I’ll take a look, thanks!

          Hi, thanks for mentioning the ham radio licensing material. Could you give me a few examples of what I’d learn there which might be related to what I’m trying to achieve? I would be very interested to know, since I’d like to have a purpose whilst going through the material.
