Astronomers have detected one of the most distant and energetic mysterious fast radio bursts in space, a millisecond-long blast of radio waves that traveled 8 billion years to reach Earth.
At a distance of 8 billion light years, I don’t think an object the size of a pulsar can emit a signal energetic enough to travel that far and still have enough juice to be picked up by sensors on Earth.
Is it a pulsar? Usually these things turn out to be pulsars.
