This and Midir were the only fights in this game that truly broke me. I took down everything else with just the Guts Greatsword. After a couple dozen attempts at this I said fuck it and respecced to use the Dragonslayer Great shield and 2 different flavors of spear

Midir had me for at least a day or two. The feeling when I finally got him was great.
