Why?
I just prefer a more organic posting environment. Megathreads seem like a mod power-move to corral everyone into their threads and delete user posts.
Because when they’re arguing in mega threads, IDF propagandists can’t 404 the post when you checkmate their bullshit. They can’t be as unhinged as they’d like to be.
Megathreads are usually the justification for deleting other threads. So your theory is close, but just the opposite.
I like when people are as unhinged as they’d like to be. That’s why I don’t support theocracies, either.
