It was banned on Reddit because it is racist, hatefull and spread Conspiracies.
In my new community I expect the exclution of racist communities. It is easy now with defederation. Nazis can do whatever they want on their instances, but the instances I want to be part of should not amplify their shit and flush it into our timelines.
The instance-admin of [email protected] did not reply to my message. Big instances seem not to defederate with them.
The new TD may not be a success, the point is not to give Nazis a platform like it is happening now. Fans of TD are racists.
Where are the instances that show face against racism?

I wasn’t talking about this one specific instance really. I was using it as an example while talking about the tools needed for managing federation and what a user sees.

Maybe you’re right. I wasn’t very clear. I intended to use the TD subreddit as an example of a toxic community. I didn’t mean to imply that everyone should immediately defederate form an instance that hosts a community named TD, even if that community has done nothing problematic yet. I meant to say that, if an instance does become host to a toxic community and does nothing to moderate it or remove it, that might be a good reason to defederate with them. Toxicity in one community on an instance will spill into others.
Maybe that will lead to even more segregated echo Chambers, though. Maybe that can become a different problem.
That said, the name the_donald has a bad history and I’m glad that the community was removed. IMO, that name has become synonymous with a toxic community.
