Not sure if this is truly an issue with lemmy.world or just a general question about Lemmy, or maybe even my own instance, but this seems a fair place to start. On my home instance, for some reason all subscriptions to @lemmy.world communities are perpetually stuck as “Subscribe Pending”, and I notice that not all of the posts and content have shown up. Is this something that should “eventually” resolve itself, or is there some action I should take on my end as the instance administrator? Thanks/apologies in advance.
I think it’s a known bug that will get fixed. I hit the button a few times and eventually it work to subscribe.
Does it actually not subscribe you? I was under the impression that it was just a visual glitch, and that you were actually subscribed under the hood.
May be more than just visual. Check out this thread on my home instance, from my end these replies don’t even show up.
Hmm, maybe it is just federation backlog, or something. This thread did start showing up here on my home instance, a few hours later. But at time of writing I don’t see the other recent comments outside this thread. I wonder if it’s expected that syncing is delayed between instances or something. But I notice the outgoing stuff I write from here shows up on Lemmyworld almost instantly, it seems to be the reverse that isn’t true. Hmm.
Yup, this thread doesn’t show up in my own instance, even though it shows me as subscribed.
On the other hand, a comment of mine showed up in a community which still says pending. Over time these bugs will be ironed out we just gotta stay patient.
Yea, fair, I’m just wondering if it’s like a… bug bug, or if it’s something to do with like, configuring the number of federation workers, or doing something in PostgreSQL, either on our end or on Lemmyworld’s end.
