Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So, how’s it going?

Things have been quite good for me lately.

Neighbour/baking saga: after eating 3 lots of baking we made for them ourselves we eventually managed to give them a packet of biscuits!! They seem really nice. In related news, I am now on a diet.

Outside situation: I am not going to be a very good butterfly host this year as we don’t have as many plants as usual. But I’m doing my best to care for what’s here and maybe add to next year’s.

We have lots of Swan plants kept for the Monarchs, unfortunately the caterpillars encourage the German wasps, which can be a bit aggressive when passing nearby. However, the Swan plants are somewhat invasive, so need ongoing managing.

Hey, cool! Yes swan plants can go crazy. I wish mine were allowed to.

What you could do though is consider adding in some South American milkweed. It’s more manageable and has pretty flowers. The butterfly trust sells seeds on trademe.

Thanks for that hint. As you said, the swan plants go mad, and grow extensively.
