I know precious little about James Cameron. What I do know can basically be summed up as: He’s Canadian, he’s a filmmaker who made like every other major movie of my childhood, and he likes the Titanic.

Oh, and that there’s a reasonable chance that he’s spent more time building deep sea submersibles than he has making movies.

I’m not sure how someone would miss that last part by now.

I saw the aliens episode of the movies that made us. His anti worker/anti union stance and his behaviour towards the crew on Aliens, because they dared take their union mandated breaks, made me dislike him. Hopefully he’s become better.

I highly doubt it. There are shitty directors and good ones. Shitty directors never, to my knowledge, become good directors down the line.

I enjoyed Ghost of the Abyss, it’s a documentary on his excursions down. Very highly recommend.

Ed Harris nearly drowned while filming. Crazy.

I didn’t know this last part but then again I didn’t question his credentials either. And even if I would, the correct thing would be to admit fault. It’s okay to be wrong. It’s not okay to stay wrong despite being corrected.
