I had to really zoom in and crank the brightness and saturation, so the photo looks like 💩 now, but it appears they have dark brown eyes that I don’t think I’ve seen on other owls.
This owl is pretty uncommon for most people, so I think people are getting the regular Long Eared Owl confused with the African Long Eared Owl (this Abyssinian Owl) and regarding incorrect info. The more I looked at the original reference photo I grabbed, I thought both the owl and the tree is was in didn’t look right for Africa and I’m pretty sure that was the North American Long Eared Owl with orange eyes.

Nah, it’s cool. When you guys ask stuff it gets me curious too, so I’d look it up anyway.
