Nobody ever puts crab meat in it? Not even imitation crab? Sounds like that would be delicious. why would they call it crab rangoon and not put any crab in it?
Some places do some don’t but even when they do it’s imitation crab chopped and mixed in the cream cheese. I love crab rangoons but I can only remember one time it tasting either really well made or using actual crab if you go to some pricier local chinese places or something

Crab Rangoon has neither crab nor does it have anything to do with Rangoon.
It’s just cream cheese deepfried in a wonton wrapper.
