minus-square@PregnenolonelinkEnglish9•10 months agoI’ve owned a lot of different brands and none have ever pestered me to connect to the internet. It could be the very cheap ones that make you do it. When I visited China I noticed that every TV showed ads so could be a jurisdiction thing too
minus-squareCosmonaut_Collinlink8•edit-210 months agoDepends on the TV. Most of them work without internet. Only a few of them fit the meme. Actually, I just realized that the TV wouldn’t know to update if it isn’t connected to the internet, so the meme falls apart.
