Seriously, it’s everywhere these days, and is so hard to stomach.

“Who is actually producing the carbon and the pollution in the world? It is the consumers of our oil.” -a big dumb idiot quoted in the article.

That’s such an absurd way of looking at things. Tobacco, guns, highly-addictive pharmaceuticals, alcohol, etc. etc. have all been on the wrong side of history with this kind of blame-the-consumer deflection.

It’s hilarious that it needs to be said, but: I can’t consume something if you don’t produce it.

Yeah like no shit we buy it we dont have that many options and in America there is none. So yeah, we do buy the shit. The very details of our lives are structured around this, and until that changes. Until our physical spaces change to accommodate people instead of cars, we will never kick this habit. Because you can’t. Its like telling an addict to kick her poison while being totally encapsulated by it every day. But its worse than that, because I can’t get my kids to school and myself to work on time without one with how my city is designed and serviced.

The US is increasing the amount of energy generated from fossil fuels. It’s increased by more than 40% since 2010. This isn’t a case of “oopsie woopsie,” it’s entirely intentional and a part of policy.

Its cartoonishly evil at this point. “Ho ho ho? This here is destroying the planet? The only planet in the known universe thay supports our lives? Lets fuck it up for billions, which we consequentially can’t spend after the destruction of the society that invented it.”

Its asinine. The most powerful people on this planet are in a race for the title of Lord of Ash. What the fuck is going on. We can’t seriously be thinking that what we do has zero effect. We can’t seriously barrel past every warning sign without a care. We can’t have the great human race strangle itself in the cradle. But here we are, watching as a few thousand rape the world and get away with it.
