    We just kind of accept that lots of things are impossible in America when virtually every other modernized countries easily accomplishes it.

    Other countries don’t have the prison population we do.

    Still, you’d think there should be no reason you could not house Trans women in a women’s prison.

      Other countries don’t have private prisons that thru lobbying have contracts requiring a certain amount of prisoners a year…

      And this should go without saying but:

      Fucking of course they dont, turns out actually rehabilitating people works better than decades of prison time in a literal hell hole. Even when people get out of our prison system, they’re usually more likely to have no other option than crime.

      We just physically and psychologically torture people for years/decades then kick them to curb with zero resources and expect them to magically be a productive citizen who can find employment

        Not only that, but a lot of times when they get out, they have a record hanging over their heads for the rest of their lives that will most definitely determine what kind of jobs they can get. Sometimes even if they do get their entire act together.
