minus-squareDominusOfMegadeuslinkfedilinkEnglish7•11 months agoWhy isn’t it plugged into the headphone jack?
minus-square@flying_mechaniclinkEnglish24•11 months agoBecause it’s an input signal not output, hence the line in
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish9•11 months agoAt a glannce, my guess is that the tape jacks are an input but the headphone jack is an output.

minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish9•edit-211 months agoEven if it was an output, which it isn’t as others have noted, headphone out and line out are not the same thing and can’t be used interchangeably. Sound will of course come out of the headphone jack, but might have rather nasty side effects too.
minus-squareDominusOfMegadeuslinkfedilinkEnglish-1•11 months agoI get what people are saying, but we have no idea what’s on the other end of that quarter inch plug, and it could be nice headphones.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish2•11 months agoit’s literally labeled “tape in”, that might be a hint what direction it’s going.

minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish0•edit-211 months agoI’m pretty sure that is a TRS Monster Beats 3.5mm cable for the Beats Solo. I get the feeling that whatever is on the end of that line doesn’t quite meet “nice headphones.” EDIT: It’s probably just an aux cable plugged into an ipod/phone to allow playback of a backing track while playing a guitar.

If it’s too loud, you’re too old.
