Yeah I had to specify arms and legs. Obviously I assumed all Christmas tree monsters would have appendages, as would any sane human, but the AI gods disagreed.
For mine I put “michael Whelan, Junji Ito, Tim Burton” at the beginning of the prompt, on a website that uses Stable Diffusion for its rendering. I also put eyes in a negative prompt, because I wanted just a tree with a scary toothy mouth. Instead I got the above nightmare.
