WINNER: SCREECH OWL 88-28

The tiny owls have done very well for themselves so far, and we have 2 great ones here to fight it out!

Screech Owl had a low turnout in his first pairing, but still got the votes to move to round 2. It’s going to take a much better performance today to get to round 3. The Screech Owl is great at looking grumpy or aloof, but squishable and cute at the same time. No need to pick between the red or grey one, you can have both today. Is that attitude and those tufts what it takes to get your upvote today?

Northern Pygmy never took his front or rear eyes off the prize in round 1. The Hawk Owl put up a solid fight, and you all respected his look and strength, but the little brown owl walked away the victor in the end. The inverse size advantage doesn’t come into play here, and will a lack of tuft be a liability for the Pygmy?

A lot is going to come down to which colors theme is the one to catch your eye and if you’re into tufts or that sleek smooth look. Upvote your pick now!

And the Screechie had such great vocalizations too!

An owl sound-off match could be a thing for the future even!

Our friendly neighborhood screech owls used to meet up on our neighbors basketball goal the summer of 2020. Was a great thing to look forward to every night at dusk, so we built an owl box for them that squirrels have taken over.

So lucky! I want Screech Owls in my neighborhood, but I’m in Great Horned territory, so they’d just become snacks! I’m going to an event this coming weekend to try to hear screechies though. They call them Hoot Hikes around here if any of you want to look for one near you.
