I knew Carlin would be here and with good reason. He was one of the greatest orators and philosophers of the 20th century, possibly the best the US has ever produced.
I couldn’t agree more. For better or worse, his words raised me more than my own POS father did. A critical thinker on a level the US goes to great pains to avoid producing in modernity.
In terms of modern social/philosophical commentary in comedic form, I only see a glimmer of such potential and depth in Bo Burnham, who is himself an avid fan of Carlin who has dropped his name in his art several times.
