Yes and no, it’s usually operator error and this one isn’t abused or extensively modified. The NA ones have headgaskets and the turbo ones either blow ring lands from improper shifts or something else when too many bolt ons are added without a proper tune. Either way we were a bit surprised but at least we get the chance to learn how to pull the motor.
