Apple has demonstrated over and over again they will work hard to safeguard users security and privacy - Google does not care about privacy at all, and they only care about security when it doesn’t conflict with their need to track and monetize you at the moment
They are both big companies with flagship cellphones yes. From someone who takes security seriously, they are not the same - from how apple implemented the secure enclave to how they protect their users privacy (there is a lot I can’t talk about, but if you know you know). Security is a cat and mouse game and/or and arms race. You either care about this stuff or not, but apple and Google are not the same
