…I thought of the thousands of residents of Gaza killed in retaliation for the lives of Jews killed by Hamas. Then I thought that, if I were to state this publicly in Germany, I might get in trouble.

In 2008, when then Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke before the Knesset, on the sixtieth anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel (…) This, she went on, was part of Germany’s Staatsräson—the reason for the existence of the state.

But the statistics mix what Germans call Israelbezogener Antisemitismus—Israel-related antisemitism, such as instances of criticism of Israeli government policies—with violent attacks,

The Holocaust memory wars in Poland have run in parallel with Germany’s. The ideas being battled out in the two countries are different, but one consistent feature is the involvement of right-wing politicians in conjunction with the state of Israel.

Still, both before and after the October 7th attack, the phrase I heard in Ukraine possibly more than any other was “We need to be like Israel.”

For the last seventeen years, Gaza has been a hyperdensely populated, impoverished, walled-in compound where only a small fraction of the population had the right to leave for even a short amount of time—in other words, a ghetto. Not like the Jewish ghetto in Venice or an inner-city ghetto in America but like a Jewish ghetto in an Eastern European country occupied by Nazi Germany.

    FDD is not unbiased

Okay, but they are a good source for criticism of Israel’s treatment at the UN. Here’s another from Wikipedia:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_and_the_United_Nations#Allegations_of_bias

The wiki page you provided uses for bibliography Israel’s favorite historian, Benny Morris, which you try to portray as unbiased?

That article has 135+ citations, only 10 of which are by Morris.

In relation to unbiased sources -and since you didn’t like the UN link- I would go more with something like Jewish voice for Peace. I’m pretty sure you can’t claim they have a pro-arab take on history

I don’t see any history at all at the link you provided,

You still haven’t provided any link with unbiased history on the topic of Israel-Palestine? It was your turn to try to do that. Actually as establish previously, you didn’t even have a convincing argument that the UN is pro-Arab.

You are talking about the 135 notes. Out of the 6 books in Bibliography, 3 of them are Benny’s, as of today.

While you keep upvoting yourself? lol

So, why are all the borders closed? Not just that to Israel?
