And he’s perfectly correct. Insurrections happen from below - Trump was literally the president of the damn country.

No, he’s not an insurrectionist. You could make the case that this was an (extremely) bumbling attempt at an autocoup… but it’s such an incompetent one that it hardly justifies the word outside of a purely legal framework. He should have asked the dictators from those “shithole countries” he famously disparaged how to do it - they’d show him how properly done autocoups really work.

What I find so strange is that the media in the US doesn’t want to talk about what Trump actually did - sicc a white lynch mob on the capitol. That’s what it was. Fortunately, it was a very incompetent one - the only people they managed to lynch was some of their fascist besties (ie, police - the institution that protected Trump’s fascist enablers from antifa when they were marching in the streets). Yet, for some reason, everybody looks at this and squeals, “insurrection!” instead of calling it what it really is.

      insurrection /ĭn″sə-rĕk′shən/

      noun

      1. The act or an instance of open revolt against civil authority or a constituted government.
      1. A rising up; uprising.
      1. The act of rising against civil authority or governmental restraint; specifically, the armed resistance of a number of persons to the power of the state; incipient or limited rebellion.

He did all three of those things. He’s an insurrectionist.

        1. Trump was the government at the time.

        2. He didn’t rise to squat - there was literally nothing above him to “rise” against.

        3. See no.1

No insurrection to see here, Clyde.

And what he and his people rose up against

Lol! Hey, if you are really desperate to pretend that Trump is some kind of “underdog” “rebelling” against the establishment, be my guest.

Trump and his ilk is the establishment - there is absolutely nothing for them to “insurrect” against. Hasn’t been in the US since a pack of rich slavers decided to pretend to be revolutionaries.

I am not pretending any such thing. And, again, the court literally found that he was responsible for an insurrection. Why is the court wrong? Because if it’s wrong, Trump should be on the ballot in Colorado. Is that what you believe?

                This you?

And what he and his people rose up against was the certification of Joe Biden’s electoral win.

Zig-zagging sideways does not conflate to up.

Because if it’s wrong, Trump should be on the ballot in Colorado.

Is that what you are really worried about? A rich white supremacist trust-fund baby sicced a white lynch mob on people in the US in front of the world’s cameras, got away with it scott-free and you think your problems only extends to said white supremacist trust-fund baby ending up in the Waffle House again?

I’d say you might want to start worrying about the factors that enabled him to be there in the first place.

You still have not explained why the Colorado ruling that he fomented insurrection is wrong. It’s sort of looking like you aren’t able to. I’m guessing it’s because you aren’t a legal expert.

Are you placing your trust in the same institutions that are trying to convict the people protesting Pig City on racketeering and terrorism charges?

Or is your mind so thoroughly gouged by liberal brain-rot that fascism becomes perfectly acceptable to you as long as it’s approved by the people “higher up” than you?

Do tell… are white lynch mobs technically illegal in the country that enshrines slavery in it’s constitution?

I’m sorry, did people break into the Whitehouse or Congress? He’s the Executive, not the entire government.

The president serves the people, the nation.

The country is not owned by the President.

The President is not a king.

It is not their’s to do with as they please.

Your proof of this is what?

The country is not owned by the President.

No argument from me. It might be a good idea to ask who it is that actually do own it, though.

The President is not a king.

        Kings aren’t kings any more.
