it has been shown that the MATE-XT upper limb exoskeleton and the MATE-XB lumbar device can reduce users’ effort by up to 30 percent

I guess every little bit helps, but I thought they’d be shooting for something like 50+% at least

Hey, a 30% increase is the difference between carrying a 100 pound load in my arms and a 70 pound load. I’d definitely want that bonus at my stagehand job, it’d make carpentry more bearable. Especially given how weak I am in general.

I think that’s the point, it makes a 100lb load feel like 70lb

Yee, like I was saying. If I’m supposed to carry a 100 pound object, say a section of stage, having 30 pounds of that offloaded would make the task that much easier and bearable.

Management will say that they if they can offload 30% then we can increase the weight carried by the employee by 40%.

Luckily it’s a union job so there wouldn’t be any of that lol. Other industries and workplaces though would absolutely abuse it, not naming any Amazons- I mean names.

Especially if it aided in static lift. Think of if it could lock your arm overhead, so that 20lbs item’s weight is on your shoulders instead of your arms.
