Most of the time when people say they have an unpopular opinion, it turns out it’s actually pretty popular.
Do you have some that’s really unpopular and most likely will get you downvoted?

By fourty one has hopefully overcome most of the ignorance of youth. The wide eyed innocence of youth, which makes one think they know something older people don’t leads to bad politics.
In today’s age they have never had a stronger voice and I believe it is to the world’s detriment, as we watch westren society’s QoL deteriorate before our eyes.
Heh, I’d have you meet some of the 40yos I’ve met!
The stupidest political decisions I’ve heard of recently were all actually made by the older folk, not the young ones (think Brexit or similar). Sure, not by people in their 40s, but by making it the lower end you also give more power to the ones who are in their 80s, who just objectively are more often than not very out of touch with the current world.
Funny that you mention that, I seem to recall that everyone is always complaining that the younger folk don’t vote and are generally not interested in politics because they simply don’t believe anything can change by voting.
Do I qualify for an actual unpopular opinion then? ;)
If we really want to go down the rabbit hole, I would have a minimum iq requirement, and possible a tiered system where more knowledgeable people’s votes hold more weight, and I would like to see exams that had to be taken to make one eligible to vote.
I think it would clean up the system nicely and hold politicians accountable.
And yeah, I recognize the problems inherent in this system, but it can’t be worse then the shit Western society has now. It’s the worst version of two wolves and a sheep these days.
Oh, for sure! It’s just that I feel like I’ve heard all the unpopular opinions and this was definitely a new one, got me curious.
With the rest of the comment I fully agree, I guess I just disagree on the “older = better judgement” equivalency.
