Security camera video from a West Bank village shows a young man standing in a central square when he is suddenly shot and drops to the ground. Two others rushing to his aid are also hit, leaving a 17-year-old dead, moments before Israeli military jeeps roll in.

An Associated Press review of the video and interviews with the two wounded survivors showed Israeli soldiers opened fire on the three when they did not appear to pose a threat. One of the wounded Palestinians was shot a second time after he got up and tried to hop away.

The Israeli military said troops entered Beit Rima overnight Thursday into Friday as part of a “counter-terrorism operation.” It said troops fired at suspects who threw explosives and firebombs at them.

The video, obtained by the AP from a local smoke shop, does not show anyone throwing explosives.

Justify what? Read the article. It’s written with uncertainty. This is why investigations exist.

There’s a video in the article showing some unarmed people just standing around, one of them is kneeling and trying to light up a pile of cardboard. For no apparent reason one of them is shot and the guy trying to help him is shot too. The first angle of the video shows that the shooter must have been far away, and the second angle shows that he’s so far away that even if one of them was preparing a Molotov, there’s no way he’d be able to harm the shooter.

What do you want the investigation to uncover? Do you think the soldier was threatened from his spot in some building a mile away?

And yet the article is written with uncertainty, slick.

Ok? People usually require video evidence to trust an article, not the other way around, but I guess you have your reasons. I will just pretend that you’re blind and cannot trust my transcription of the video, and each one of us goes on their way.

I’ll just pretend you can’t read.
