Tesla boosts pay for U.S. factory workers as UAW momentum builds::Tesla Inc. notified workers at its California car plant of pay increases across its U.S. factories, the latest bump by a nonunion automaker the United Auto Workers is trying to organize.
Really a testament to the importance of labour unions. They lift up the pay even for workers not in unions.
Literally. From a report by the Treasury Department:
Yep. I enjoyed “we will take what they are having” outside the Union for many good years, each year when the Union negotiated a pay or benefit increase.
But in tough years, the unionized workers did much better than we did.
We fixed that though - by joining the Union.
I agree. Seeing this currently at my job. Main location is in a State with strong unionization. My location, far from Corporate, is being hit with wave after wave of petty shit and hostility. Hiring freezes, department hours cut, no overtime w/ heavy controls in place, random check-ins at terrible times, etc. Been sorely tempted to drop a super quiet and anonymous letter to the union supporting employees of this organization, even if this location is outside their jurisdiction. See what happens.
For giggles.
