Title is a bit redundant; I can’t see how anybody could read the book and not come away as a fan, but I’m just wondering if there’s anyone on Lemmy who’s read it.
What do you think? I’d love to meet some other fans of DFW.

Need to read this soon. Got a copy for xmas two (2!) years ago that I’ve not read. Managed to read Blood Meridian over the holidays this year though so Infinite Jest is now the missing piece to make me a full litbro.
A friend has recommended the David Foster Wallace essays as a better starting point with his work, anyone read those?

Never read the essays, but I’ll attest that Blood Meridian is a much more challenging read. IJ is just… a lot
The essays definitely fit his style. I find it a bit hard to get into at times, and at times so good you can’t put it down. IJ is not an easy read no matter how you look at it. It’s one of those things you have to commit to, but I think it’s well worthwhile in the end.
I joined a group doing infinite summer, it’s about 10 pages a day for 3 months and fairly manageable, but can still be a daily 1-2 hour commitment depending on footnotes over those 10 pages. Best to do with a physical copy and 3 bookmarks.
