Lots of candidate run big campaigns grifting donations and being more extreme than the parties pick.
Then almost immediately drop out and endorse the party favorite.
Bernie wanted to stay until it was over, and got shit on by the media and the DNC.
Because neither party is honestly interested in letting voters pick the general candidate. And rich donors definitely aren’t. They want the party to pick, be cause the parties always pick what donors want.
