I’m actually pretty optimistic about reddit in fedi!

Twitter had specific personalities that needed to move for me to join, but Reddit was just anonymous shitposts.

If the feed updates often enough, this is a perfect drop in replacement. Also, crossposting here from Reddit is an easy way to generate content 🤷‍♀️

Someone scrape Reddit and post it all here. Thxxxxxx.

People have bots doing that but it’s actually pretty lifeless and doesn’t add quality to the site. The organic OC here is high quality, as is the quality of discussion. We don’t need Reddit content posted by bots.

Who needs quality. I’m here to scroll my life away. Inject content into my veins, bot or not.

I understand what your saying but stick around and see for yourself. There are bots posting content scraped from Reddit. The posts often have zero comments and no engagement. That’s what I mean by lifeless. It’s not a huge problem, but it could turn into one. In my opinion we need people posting content, not bots.

Nah, I get it. Scrolling content is better with a peanut gallery chatting shit.

Someone get ChatGPT bots posting comments on memes. People are obsolete. Feed my terminal content addiction ☠️

That’s kind of how I feel. Discovery was harder on Mastodon and that style of content is very contingent on a handful of really high value posters but Lemmy is much closer to what I’m looking for and frankly has a lot of potential.

Bums me the hell out that these bozos are ruining my platforms, but maybe it’s a blessing in disguise.
