Hello everyone,

I was about to post a link to an interesting article (https://newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/measuring-developer-productivity-bae), but I then remembered that this community only allows questions.

Could we maybe update that rule so that interesting career-related articles can be shared too? The alternative I see is having a dedicated “cscareer” community, but I don’t think it would be really useful as the current activity here is quite low

but isn’t the point of this community to ask career questions in computer science, not for sharing articles?

Well, there hasn’t been any question in 3 months besides mine a month ago, so that’s why I suggested to widen the scope of the community a bit. And articles would be about career in CS, so still relevant to the audience already here.

Maybe you could share the article in the form of a question? Like, pose the thesis of the article to the group as an opinion and ask for feedback?

The point of a questions-only forum is to encourage discussion in the comments and prevent bots spamming article links. If there’s only one question per month, but it is answered promptly and encourages discussion, then the forum is working. If there are 100 posts a day drowning out questions, and zero discussion, then it’s worthless.

That was my idea too, but I had experiences in the past where the moderator would remove the post due to it not being a “genuine question”, hence my suggestion to update the rule
