Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, if there’s a better location please let me know where to direct this.

One of the mods of [email protected] (Stormageddon47) left some disturbing comments here, referring to the simulated rape of a child in VR as “bullying” and insisting multiple times that it should not be investigated by police at all, despite sexual harassment of children obviously being a crime.

They repeatedly downplay the seriousness of what happened to the girl and spread misinformation about the police trying to prosecute it as a rape. While there are media stories referring to it this way, reliable sources are very explicit about the fact rape laws do not cover what happened to this girl.

Just wanted to make sure the admins knew this was going on, thanks for your time.

Stormageddon47 is right. You can’t be raped on the Internet, it’s bullying.

would the “VR rape case” then be sexual harassment?

This whole thing is just really weird. Should the police not investigate because it’s not rape? Also rape, according to the Met, can only be done by people with dicks…

This whole thing is a mess

That’s the legal definition in the UK afaik. It is weird, but since people feel uncomfortable debating topics like this, it probably won’t get changed either.

The legal definition of rape is when a person intentionally penetrates another’s vagina, anus or mouth with a penis, without the other person’s consent.

So seeing you can’t do in VR or on the Internet. It’s not rape in the legal definition. They have don’t have a case.

EDIT Here’s the Met Police article about sexual harassment/rape, https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/rsa/rape-and-sexual-assault/what-is-rape-and-sexual-assault/

Im not debating that. It’s just weird that the legal definition is, well that.
