Definitely true for some peoole. (Though before I switched to Linux, I couldn’t have guessed how valuable it has now become to me and would have thought the same thing…)
20 years ago that was true for most people (not me), 10 years ago it was sort of true, today it’s not really true anymore as o ly very specific vendors of widely used software (hello adobe) are still being a dick. Most packages work natively, have alternatives that work perfectly fine, or work through wine and worst case, through a virtual machine.
Those are the cons, the pros list is having a much safer and more stable machine, no more Microsoft spyware bullshit, no more Microsoft update bullshit, etc etc etc…
Switching to Linux is more trouble than it’s worth.
