When I switch to All, my default sort is by New, but if it is the first time I go to All after opening the app, the sort is kinda random.

If I refresh, it fixes itself, and subsequent switching to All still seems to stay correctly. If it exit the app and go back in and to All, the sort is random again.

Just wanted to point that out. I’m always worried about sounding bitchy pointing out things, but I really love the work you’ve been doing, this app is by far the best I’ve used!

    Cool, then I’ll keep helping!

I knew there’s a few other things I’ve been meaning to suggest, but I never remember to hit them down when I think of them!

The only other one I remember now is concerning drafts. Post drafts and Comment drafts seem to be stored in different spots/lists.

Again, my use case may be atypical, since I create many larger and educational posts. I do a lot of replies to my own posts, basically to split up big blocks of info or photos, basically like:

    -Post with introduction

    —Info Section 1

    —Info Section 2

    —Pic 1 with caption

    —Pic 2 with caption

You having drafts and a preview have already made this much easier, but if drafts were all on a single list, or if I could just tell the app I want to write a draft, that would help. Essentially I use drafts as a delay. I’ll write my articles in the evening, but post real early in the morning right before I leave for work so I catch my audience at the best time. Having the initial post draft and the comment drafts all prepared and ready to just fire off at the same time would make that a breeze for long content.

Oh, the other big thing for me is quotes. If I post paragraphs, I have to manually put in multiple quotes. I feel another app I tried would add the quote syntax to highlighted text where it found line breaks.

Again, thanks for all your great work. Boost tried to pull me back by finally implementing a good post creation screen like I agreed for months ago, but I’ve been full time Summit for a good while now. I feel you still have the best overall implementation for someone who actually posts. Some of the former Reddit apps are a little prettier for reading, but when it comes to content creation, you are well ahead of most other apps IMO.

Lemmy needs good content to stay viable, so that’s where my energy is going. I never expected myself to be a content provider, and now I have to occasionally remind myself to go browse and enjoy what the other people are doing! 😅

Good thing I was searching the community for something because otherwise I would have missed this comment. I somehow didn’t read this comment or at least don’t remember doing so. I’ll add the QoL change for the quote function in the next release.

As for drafts, the reason why comments and post drafts don’t share the same list is because of the extra fields in a post. A post draft also saves the title, url and the NFSW toggle status. These fields are not in a comment draft. I can add a button in the next release so you can see all drafts if you want and just add a warning or something to show where a draft is a post or comment.

        Awesome, thank you! (smart quotes)

That makes sense about the different drafts having different options. I’m excited to see what you come up with!
