Coping

It’s been good to talk about mental health, fabulous to hear from people’s thoughts on sharing, caring, hoping, but now thoughts about coping are this weeks theme.

So what strategies are you employing to help you day to day, month to month? Any tips or actions welcomed, not just from !scotland posters either

For me, I think coping involves all the things we’ve talked about, sharing, caring and hoping. You need a good support behind you who’ll listen when you need to vent, cry, moan or who know you well enough to realise you need to open up when you smile and say your fine.

Coping for me also means being busy. I give a lot, probably too much, of my time to work, but I also make time for friends, family and my OH. Getting out in the fresh air always helps to clear the head!!

I love to take time for myself by having a long, hot bath with a bath bomb, candle, can of irn bru, sweetie/chocolate and The Real Housewives!

In work, we teach children some strategies which can help with stressful situations. Deep breathing, visualisation exercises, meditation, massage.

This year I am going to try manifesting to help cope with my stressful situations! Will let you know how it pans out!! xxx

Could not have said it better.

My personal take includes coping with the fact that some in your life who you thought cared and realising they don’t. (At least not in a good way) don’t and your life is better off without them.

I have also come to the realisation it’s having an impact on my kids and granddaughter so have decided to to give my kids the unedited rant I put into the start of the month in the hopes to let them understand who and why I am. If I am lucky it will break the cycle before I find myself in another loop losing family both before and after me.

Unrelated Personally, I want to thank olap for doing this. Over January wesa small place but its rare to see the care on an open Internet (I haven’t figured out how to tag people yet)

Yeah, big thanks @olap for the space to share!

Hopefully you’re family will get a better understanding of who you are if you share your post. Sometimes we don’t need advice or guidance, just someone to listen to us!!
